Oslob Trip, Part Two – Tumalog Falls

Oslob Trip, Aspect Two – Tumalog Falls

Tumalog Falls

Oslob, Cebu Island, The Philippines

Observing as we were being performed swimming with the whale sharks at all over 8:30 AM, we made a decision to head out to a close by water fall.  Tumalog Falls is only a 12 moment trip from the Butanding viewing center and is accessed by a steep, paved street that lies on the western aspect of the Countrywide Road.  Like Twin Lakes on close by Negros Oriental (our house), it is a enjoyable trip, with sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains to the west and the glittering sea to the east.  You will arrive at the top rated of a hilltop with a gorge to your correct.  Parking is available and you can either walk down the at times precipitous concrete road to the falls or seek the services of just one of the habal-habal men for 20-40 pesos to take you down on his bicycle.  You spend your 20 peso entrance fee right here, and there is also a smaller sari-sari to inventory up on water and snacks, as there is no put to acquire that in the falls space. Searching for the complete working experience (and staying relatively kuripot), we made the decision to hike down, a choice that inevitably necessitated Sara getting off her stylish however not far too practical substantial-heeled flip flops.

There is a compact coated picnic making at the bottom of the road, designed of indigenous components and furnished with sturdy bamboo tables and chairs. Just outside of that is a small pool of a beautiful shade that reminded me of the pools about at Kawasan Falls.  After taking a several images by the pool, it was time to head about to the genuine falls which lies just a small approaches away.

Filipinas before falls

Unlike Kawasan Falls, Tumalog Falls is Incredibly misty.  As the water falls from the major, it strikes a number of umbrella-like formations on the way down, spreading the move out like umbrellas so that most of it reaches the bottom like slipping rain.  I took the GoPro in and bought some footage, but mist droplets forming on the lens cover confined the protection.  Exact same with our cameras.  Nevertheless, we bought some very good pictures for posterity.

Nother falls

There is a big pool at the bottom of the falls that will make for good swimming on a warm, sunny working day.  The working day we went it wasn’t all that sunny (and we had left our fits and towels back again up on the YBR), so we did not indulge in its chilly, mountain-fed waters.  Other individuals did, on the other hand, and there is a tiny spot wherever you can set up mats to sit down and have a minor picnic.

Tumalog Falls also differed from Kawasan Falls as there are no professional structures in the place.  Kawasan has a variety of small concrete resorts that detract from the organic magnificence of the spot, but there would seem to be some sort of zoning stricture towards that at Tumalog.  This is a good point, and eco-holidaymakers in particular will value it.  Unfortunealty, there is the usual quantity of trash still left by inconsiderate holidaymakers which is a shame as there are actually trash cans about the falls area (a thing you never frequently see in the Philippines).

Climbing again up the hill was a bit of a bear.  As it does usually in the Philippines, it commenced raining with a sunny sky in entrance of us, but fortunately it before long tapered off.  We huffed and puffed our way up the incline and eventually arrived at the leading.  Vans of vacationers ended up just arriving to the parking space as we caught our breath and geared up the motorbike to head again household.
