Refrigerator for the tropics – Electrolux WR5106D

We’re not “Consumer Reports” but we would like to share our extremely good ordeals with our Electrolux fridge as a way of providing the manufacturer a pat on the again for a good item and providing some steerage to other expats browsing for appliances.

A Sharp fridge arrived with our initially apartment. When I have an inclination to believe of Japanese solutions as excellent high-quality, the Sharp fridge was really awful.  Its cooling energy was lower, so food was not kept chilly besides under the greatest ailments.  Plastic parts were flimsy and broke quickly.

When we purchased property and realized we have been likely to establish a property, we started shelling out extra focus to kitchen area appliances.  Despite our encounters with the Sharp, we however chosen Asian models Panasonic, LG, Samsung and so forth.  We saw Electrolux fridges in the showrooms, but actually did not look at them.  Electrolux (other than my mom’s historic vacuum cleaner) was not a major brand in the U.S.  Besides, Electrolux was high-priced.  Then one working day we had been at a big Iloilo Town equipment vendor and noticed that they had a repossessed big, deluxe Electrolux refrigerator for sale for P15,500.  It experienced the remains of the former proprietors foodstuff inside, but I could see that the refrigerator was rather new and could be cleaned up.  I’m guessing the marketing cost was at first P40,000 or so.  I brought Carol to see it and she agreed that we should really purchase it.

We have been using this equipment for two several years now and we are so pleased with it.  It’s huge and effective so that it retains our food items cold even in our scorching, un-air conditioned kitchen area.  All of the plastic components are excellent quality, noticeably superior than our costly Kenmore aspect-by-aspect in the U.S.  Even if we experienced to pay whole cost for this fridge, we’d do it in an quick.  Electrolux has fairly smaller models that look equivalent, but we have no experience with them.   Our device is designed in Thailand which would seem to a important producing middle for Asian appliances.

Inform:  I just noticed this product on sale at Emcor, Iloilo, for P25,000 new.  That’s a great deal!  6-20-10
